Mi Mama

You know the warm fuzzies? That feeling you get whenever something special occurs and you were lucky enough to witness it, a tender kiss, an unexpected message from a far away friend, or just a thought of a special someone... Well, my mom always makes me feel that way. She is one of the of the strongest women I know. She has always been there for me and has always wanted what is best for her girl. I remember the first time I shaved. I was 11 yrs old and hairy! (or so it seemed like it to me) So I took my mom's razor and, while my mom was at work, went to town! And I didn't just stop at my legs! Oh no!! I took care of my arms too. Later, I remember marvelling at how smooth everything was. But I didn't tell my mom yet. Luckily, it was close to Fall so I was wearing pants. But on our trip to Mexico to visit relatives, I put my foot on the mid console and was talking to my mom. She reached over to say Happy Birthday and rubbed my leg! Oh dear! She was so surprised! She asked me when I had done it and why. I told her it was because I was SO hairy! She lightly slapped my leg, shook her head, and told me not do things like that without telling her. I just shrugged and said OK, but now in retrospect, I think she wanted to show me how she does it. She doesn't shave!! At all! She uses a pumice stone! And her legs are silky smooth! Dang it!!! I should have listened to her! I should have known that Mama knows best!

I love her.
